Now that August is here, NEOFACS, formerly The Children’s Aid Society has started its annual back to school campaign to collect school supplies.
Staff member Meereille Dubosq says the school supplies are for more than just foster children.
Dubosq says they try to give out the donations to their clients first and then to other children who are referred to them by service providers.
She adds They are looking for any gently used or new items ranging from school or lunch bags, ice packs, lined sheets of paper, pencils, pens, rulers, calculators.
You can drop off new or gently used supplies at any NEOFACS office. In Kapuskasing, it’s located at 29 Kolb Street. Dubosq hopes to get most of the donations by the week of August 26 because depending on the board, some children start school that week.
