Experimental Farm Taking Shape With New Crops

Many motorists have noticed the yellow flowers west of Kapuskasing. That’s from Rogers Crop Enterprise who took over the Experimental Farm nearly a year ago. Celina Rogers says they started looking at the area several years ago prior to moving to the area. Martin says they are going to continue to expand and work on the farm to make it better.

Currently they grow canola seeds, wheat, barley and oats for cereal and other vegetables such as peas.

Over the past couple of days Rogers Crop Enterprises has completed some controlled burns aimed at cleaning up the leftover wood from clearing the area for further expansion.
