Friday’s going to be a big day in Smooth Rock Falls,with back- to-back grand openings.
At 11:00am is the grand opening of the newly upgraded Liz McCafferty Park and its new playground equipment. That will feature a barbecue and live music.
Smooth Rock Falls CAO Luc Denault says at one o’clock will be the grand opening of the park’s brand new splash pad.
“Just an exciting addition to the community,” he comments. “Healthy, active living for the kids, actually all ages, I presume.”
“We’re excited about the splash pad that’ll keep people cool on warm days. It’s open seven days a week from June to September and just a very exciting time for a small community who continues to inch forward following the mill closure, several – well – over ten years ago now.”
