The United Way that serves all of Northeastern Ontario is looking for a few good men — and women — to sit on its board.

United Way North East Ontario is a registered charity that raises money and then distributes it to qualifying charity programs.

Cochrane and Timiskaming district manager Jennifer Gorman says it also covers Sudbury and North Bay-Nipissing.

“We have focus areas of poverty to possibility, kids and all they can be, and health people, strong communities,” she explains.

“So anybody within the Cochrane or Timiskaming district, we’re certainly looking for board members.  We are looking for board members throughout the whole region of this United Way North East Ontario. However, we’re certainly trying to diversify and have new members of some of these new regions so year, really recruiting throughout the North.”
