Colour run looking to get community on their feet

For a fourth straight year Healthy Community Kapuskasing will help get you moving.

I’m Living It in Colour will take place once again at the end of May hosted by HCK in partnership with the Porcupine Health Unit.

Public Health Nurse Janelle Edwards says the colour run is an opportunity to get active as you prefer.

“People are encouraged to come join us to either ride their bikes, walk the five kilometre or run the five kilometre.”

Edwards says this year they are encouraging not just children but the older adults 55 and up to come and participate if they can.

“It’s kind of a protest in movement, a show of unity in the community as well during the walk, so that people see other people moving and then it makes them feel like they want to move.”

The run, which is completely free, will take place at Riverside Park on Sunday, May 26th.

Registration will also be held at Riverside Park’s tennis court beginning at 12:00pm on the day of the run.
