Lights, coffee makers, toasters and hair dryers all fell victim to a power outage in Kapuskasing at about 8:00am today.
It’s part of a widespread interruption of electricity that Hydro One says stretches from Matheson to Kap along Hwy. 11, south to Gogama and west to Foleyet. A total of 20,400 customers were affected at the height of the outage.
Workers at the Hanmer transformer station are performing switching maneuvers to restore the electricity. The estimated time for full restoration is 12:00 noon.
