Local entrepreneur seeks community support in her push to support all women

A local entrepreneur is asking for some community love in her push for a small business boost.

Crystal Gayle Brisson, Owner of Feed that Glow, is a mindset and body confidence coach who teaches self-love, body positivity and to help women embrace their glow. Through her self-created business, Brisson has sought out to teach women across the local area how to better heal their relationship with food, and to embrace their being.

Brisson says that is why she is entering the FedEx Second Annual Canadian Small Business Grant Contest, in order to help her continue to better help women across her local area.

She says how the contest came to her knowledge was thanks to one of her followers reaching out to alert her, that is when she knew this was the next step.

“I sat down and I looked it over and I said okay yes, because I do have huge goals that I want to accomplish within the next year and it was like a sign to complete it.”

She says there is already a plan that she has in place, albeit she is taking baby steps as it is. However, the fact a follower turned her onto this contest opened Brisson’s eyes to the opportunity of speeding her plan up just a tad.

No matter the outcome of her entry within the contest, Brisson says she has big plans for the fall.

“I’m still gonna show up and do what I intended to do, so I have big plans for Feed that Glow coming in the fall, I’m trying to plan something really massive that’s never really been done yet around here, so I’m still gonna show up and make magic happen.”

She says you can vote once within a 24-hour period, but if you have multiple emails you can vote on each of those once a day.

Brisson says her application will not even be looked at unless she advances to the second round of the contest, so she is hoping that the community will come to show their support by helping her with the voting process.

Here is how the contest prizes breakdown:

  • Grand prize: 1 winner of a $30,000 CAD grant, plus 1 meeting with FedEx Express Canada president Lisa Lisson, plus 1 brand marketing workshop with public relations and digital marketing agency FleishmanHillard HighRoad ($10,000 CAD estimated value).
  • Silver prize: 1 winner of a $15,000 CAD grant, plus 1 brand marketing workshop with FleishmanHillard HighRoad ($5,000 CAD estimated value).
