Kapuskasing can expect the spring cleaning to officially begin.
Public Works has announced to residents that they will begin their spring clean-up on Monday, May 13th with a trash swap week.
This will involve residents being encouraged to place used trash items such as furniture, small household items, television sets, electronics, bicycles at the roadside.
Residents with large appliances for disposal must contact the Public Works department in order to schedule pick-up, but no tires, demolition or construction materials to be picked up.
There will then be a special garbage collection week the following week of May 20th through 24th, where spring garbage collection will occur on your regular garbage collection day.
Tree, branch and leaf storage area will open as of Friday, May 17th, but access to the site will only be from the Sports Palace Parking lot.
Only materials such as branches, tree stumps, leaves and grass clippings will be allowed, no bags or containers will be allowed to remain on site, and products must be emptied into identified bins at the site.
