Sensenbrenner achieves CT scan goal in under three months

It is time to celebrate.

Sensenbrenner Hospital has officially as of today reached their goal of raising at least $1.7 million for their CT scan campaign.

CFO Chantal Boyer-Brochu and CEO France Dallaire helped deliver the news alongside one of the heads of the CT scan foundation Gilbert Peters just inside the front doors of the hospital this morning.

Dallaire says staff has been overwhelmed by this generosity from the local community.

“It’s absolutely amazing the support that we have gotten from the community and our business partners in the last 78 days, we expected this to take a year and today’s day 78 and we have reached the finish line.”

Boyer-Brochu says they would like to continue the fundraising efforts, especially considering the recent million dollar donation from the Labelle Foundation can be divided into other projects necessary to the hospital.

She says the foundation was so kind and willing to allow Sensenbrenner to use the funds towards whatever is necessary.

“So the Labelle Foundation has agreed that if we do go over the $1.7 million they would re-allocate the money to go towards any projects or any equipment that the hospital needs and we are in need of different pieces of equipment so please continue to donate.”

Chair of the CT Scan Fundraising Committee Gilbert Peters also says even they didn’t think there would be more to come after the recent million dollar donation.

“We thought after Mr. Labelle gave the million dollars we thought there was going to be a big slump, we thought everybody is going to say they don’t need money anymore so were going to stop it now, we don’t have to give, they have lots of money. But, the opposite happened, people came in and they were lined up at the door to donate.”

Dallaire says they have now submitted the final documents for stages three and four to the ministry of health in order to get them approved. They must now await ministry approval as the hospital has already selected their vendor of choice, the equipment and the contractor, and Dallaire says they have their sights set on seeing a functional CT scan at Sensenbrenner before the end of this December.
