Mattice-Val Cote Join Push For High-Speed Internet

Another municipality has officially joined the push in support of high-speed internet.

The municipality of Mattice-Val Cote council has opted to follow suit in approving a request from Moonbeam for further support in their high-speed internet project for the Highway 11 corridor.

The project involves installing 20 transmission towers between Smooth Rock Falls and Hearst which will allow them to provide what they believe should be roughly 50 megabytes per second download speed and ten megabytes per second upload speed.

Recently, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission established a universal objective that by the year 2021 all Canadian homes and small businesses should have access to high-speed internet.
