Police have arrested a local man in connection with drug trafficking.

The OPP North East Region Community Street Crime Unit performed a search warrant on February 20th of a home on Dallyn Avenue in Kapuskasing.

There, officers seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, psilocybin, cannabis, cocaine, and prescription medication, followed by firearms, ammunition and Canadian cash with an estimated street value of $62,000.

Officers arrested a 35-year-old local man on 23 charges including six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and four counts of careless storage of a firearm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Cochrane court on March 1st.
