Police are asking that you leave some further room for the plows.

The OPP has put out a reminder to the public about the importance of leaving extra distance when you come across a snow plow on the roadways.

Police ask that you do not tailgate plows considering they need extra room to maneuver the vehicle.

Officers want to remind residents that plows can cause severe damage in a collision due to their size.

As well, police stress that keeping a safe distance behind plows is a must, and if possible when passing a snow plow as oncoming traffic shift as far right as possible to allow them room.

The OPP says it is important for operators to have room to work, so be patient and slow down.
