Police are asking residents to make sure their car is clear before they take to the roads.
The OPP and Timmins Police Service are both attempting to put an end to what TPS calls ‘portable snow storms’, which is why they held a one-day blitz targeting drivers with uncleaned cars.
Police are simply trying to make sure drivers are not taking to the roadways without first having cleared snow from their roof, all sides, as well as their plates.
Officers say this is a major safety issue, as by clearing snow you prevent yourself from possibly blinding the driver behind you when snow blows off your vehicle.
Police say these rules fall under the Highway Traffic Act.
