UPDATE: Highway 11 Clear

Highway 11 is now clear.

The highway was re-opened late Friday evening as overnight cars were finally able to make their way through the Smooth Rock Falls to Strickland area using both the north and southbound lanes.

The issue began early Friday morning after a disabled tractor-trailer originally blocked both lanes around the lunch hour.

 

 

UPDATE: 3:53pm

Highway 11 has now had at least one lane re-opened.

A disabled tractor trailer around 11:30am blocked off all lanes between Fauquier and Smooth Rock Falls.

The Ministry of Transportation is now stating that one lane has been re-opened as they try to remove the tractor-trailer from the scene.

Currently, between Strickland and Smooth Rock Falls the Southbound shoulder and lane still remain closed, one listener Andrea tells MyKapuskasingNow.com that the wait has been roughly an hour at this point.

Further details will be provided as they come in.

 

 

An issue has closed all lanes both directions between Fauquier and Smooth Rock Falls.

The Ministry of Transportation Ontario 511 website currently lists that a disabled vehicle on Highway 11 has shut down all lanes in both directions at this time.

Ontario 511 is reporting that the issue is closing down the area between Cloutier Road and Main Road along the highway.

The issue first began around 11:30am and there is no timeline for when it will be cleared.
