According to Environment Canada, a prolonged period of wind chill is expected once again today. Winds at minus 40 to minus 45 blew through the Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls communities this morning. The weather agency says the wind will die down through the day but this evening will reach roughly minus 40. Environment Canada is again reminding all area residents to bundle up due to the extreme cold warning and keep an eye on older family, friends and neighbours.
