Further cold winds are on the way today and into this evening for the surrounding area.

Environment Canada says the wind will continue to howl through the day and into the evening following winds of minus 40 to 50 this morning.

Communities such as Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls are expected once again to be in the path of these extreme winds.

The weather agency says the extreme winds are still expected to continue hitting large portions of Northern Ontario through most of this week.

Once again, as they have throughout the week Environment Canada stresses that you bundle up as exposed skin can freeze within minutes due to the winds.

As well, if it is too cold for you to be outside, then it is also too cold for your pet.
