Significant Snowfall Expected To Continue Until Late Evening

Snow is expected to continue falling on the communities of Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls tonight.

Environment Canada says a special weather statement is in effect that significant snowfall should continue tonight into the late evening before slowly diminishing.

The weather agency says about 10 to 15 centimetres of snow is expected to collect through the night in most communities.

Environment Canada is also stating that heavy winds up to 50 kilometres an hour in exposed areas will continue resulting in blowing snow.

The weather agency is cautioning drivers to allow for plenty of extra time during trips due to poor winter driving conditions.
