Canada Post Raising Domestic Stamps By 5 Cents

When you go to the post office to send mail, it will be a bit more expensive this year.

Canada Post has announced that the price of domestic postage stamps is going to be seeing a five cent increase, which is the first increase to the cost of stamps in five years.

Kapuskasing Canada Post Operations and Retail Clerk Christine Lozier says domestic stamps when purchased as a booklet will now cost 90 cents per stamp rather than the previous 85.

As well, Lozier says when purchasing a single domestic stamp it will now cost you $1.05 rather than a $1.

Canada Post has since released a statement that also explains that while usage of stamps varies person to person, they estimate the increase will cost the average Canadian household less than a dollar more per year.
