Lift Day Offers Free Chance At The Slopes

Families can hit the slopes for a day free of charge.

According to Operations Manager at Moonbeam’s Remi Ski Hill Norm Nadeau, Lift Day or Family Fun Day is an opportunity for families to come out and spend a day on the slopes before the holidays come to a close.

Nadeau says Abundant Life Christian Fellowship is the sponsor behind the event.

“We are having a free Lift Day on the mountain and it is sponsored by the Abundant Life Group, so we are welcoming everyone to come and visit us, the buses will be running with pickup times around time being 9:00am to 4:00pm and the hill will be open from 10:00am until 4:00pm.”

He says they will also have buses transporting people from 9:00am to 4:00pm to and from the hill at a cost of three dollars, the pickup zones will be the Sports Palace Arena, McDonald’s, Murdoch Hill, Andre-Cary, Eastview Park and Coeur du Nord.

Nadeau says to ride the bus alone, kids must be at least 12 years of age.

“We ask your kids to be a minimum age of 12 if you want them alone on the bus, they will be safe as we have them for the day, they will be dropped off back again in town around 5:00pm, the bus rate is $3 one way trip and this is the only day we will be open during the week 10:00am to 4:00pm.”

The hill will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm, free of charge, albeit equipment rental is not free.
