UPDATED: Local Man Arrested After Attempted Robbery In Kapuskasing

Police have arrested a Kapuskasing man in connection with a robbery at a local convenience store.

The 27-year-old Kapuskasing man has been arrested on 9 charges including one count of robbery with a firearm, one charge of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of cocaine.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Cochrane court today.

 

 

Police have arrested a male suspect in regards to a robbery last night in Kapuskasing.

Members of the OPP James Bay Detachments responded to a robbery attempt around 9:30pm on Wednesday evening at a convenience store on Brunetville Road.

Media Relations Officer Stephanie Belec says a short time later police were able to locate a man they believe is in connection with the robbery and arrested him.

Belec says currently the investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available about the suspect in police custody.

She says further details will be provided as they become available.
