REMI SKI HILL EXPANDING TRAILS FOR FAT BIKES

With its 50th anniversary year behind it, Moonbeam’s Remi Ski Hill is open and expanding its services as 2019 begins.

Operations manager of the non-profit club, Norm Nadeau, says last week’s snowfall was “opportune”.

“So we’ve got about 20 cm, great stuff on there”, Nadeau reports,  “and it’s all been groomed, ready to go for Jan. 2-6 that we’re open, five days straight, and we’re open from noon to 6pm.”

The club is just off the highway in Moonbeam.  There is bus service to the hill from Kapuskasing and back.

“We have not only downhill skiing of course,” says the operations manager. “Snowboarding as well, we have a wonderful mountain but we also have tubing, we have snowshoe trails, we have groomed trails for fat bikes as well.  And this year, we’re really elaborating or actually expanding on our trails for the fat bikes as well.”

Nadeau says there are speakers all up and down the hill, always blasting out Moose FM.
