Ste Rita Church is up for sale.

The municipality of Val Rita-Harty and their town council has decided to approve the sale of the building to a potential buyer.

At their most recent council meeting a few options were tossed around by councillors including demolishing the building, or simply keeping it as is.

In the end, council decided it was best to close the church and evaluate proposals from potential buyers.

For almost a decade the building has been owned by the municipality and used as a recreation centre, which it will no longer be needed for following the purchase during the summer of a former school to be used as a new community centre.

Council has also stated that they will be accepting bids until mid-April and then a recommendation will be given by mid-June of next year.
