Fundraiser Game Brings In $2500 Towards Bus Travel

Lots of fun and loads of funds.

According to Team Manager and Parent Melodie Genier, the Fundraiser Game put on for the Bantam Regional Express Hockey Club was a huge success.

The NOJHL’s Hearst Lumberjacks and the GNML’s Kapuskasing Flyers took a break from their scheduled league action to play a pickup style exhibition match in Kapuskasing yesterday for the benefit of youth hockey players from both communities.

The Bantam team consists of players from Hearst as well as Kapuskasing.

Genier says last night they had over 400 people show up to attend the game, meaning that in total from tickets and expenses throughout the evening the club was able to pull in roughly $2500 toward their team bus travel.

Genier says on behalf of their team, they wanted to thank the coaching staff, players, parents and everyone who helped out by being a part of the fundraiser or the set-up for it.

She says it was a major success and they should have no problem paying for their travel moving forward.
