Local Hockey Clubs Raising Funds For Fellow Players

Two hockey teams along the Highway 11 corridor will face off to benefit some younger hockey players in both communities.

Tomorrow the Hearst Lumberjacks of the NOJHL and the Kapuskasing Flyers of the GNML will play a Fundraiser Game in Kapuskasing at the Sports Palace Arena to benefit the Regional Express Bantam Hockey Club.

The Bantam team consists of a mix of players from both Hearst and Kapuskasing and are looking to use the funds towards a new team expense.

Express Player Dylan Dubosq says the new expense is a new team bus.

“The game tomorrow is to raise money so we can take a bus to all of our out of town hockey games.”

Express Player Jayden Laplante says it will help build more team chemistry.

“Yea I think it be really great because we can all bond together in the same bus and it be alot easier to get to the game.”

The game is sponsored by Voyages Lacroix Tours and Les Boys Sports Excellence and tickets will cost six dollars for adults and two dollars for kids.

Puck drop is at 7:30pm and all proceeds from the event will go the bantam hockey club.
