The Kapuskasing community during the MooseFMÂ Community Cares Radiothon helped raise an official total of $7235 for families in need this Christmas.
Total calculations came in today from NEOFACS Organizer Mireille Dubosq saying that over $5,000 was gathered from toys alone, before including tax. Also, a $1,000 of monetary donations was collected as well, meaning there is quite a nice boost now for the budget to go and purchase items for families that they have requested.
Overall, Dubosq says she is proud of the community and can’t thank the area enough for their wonderful help.

MooseFM’s Community Cares Radiothon has pulled in a total of roughly over $6,000 for families in need this Christmas.
All day Wednesday the MooseFM crew teamed up with NEOFACS during their Christmas Angel Campaign alongside Val Albert Motors, to help guarantee that everyone in the surrounding area can enjoy a merry Christmas.
The fundraiser is part of a national plan from Vista Radio Ltd. to raise $1 million dollars in one day for local charities across Canada.
Volunteer Joanne Dubosq was helping throughout the afternoon Wednesday at the MooseFM studios.
Dubosq says they wish to thank the local area for their ever-present generosity.
“Thank you very much Kapuskasing, we love you all. Thank you to all the merchants, to all the private (donations), to everybody that gave away today. It was a great success.”
She says the local community is always willing to lend a hand.
“I find that the people here in Kapuskasing are so generous it is unreal.”
Dubosq says she could not be more proud of the role the community has played in their success, and can’t thank the area enough.
An official total will be tallied overnight by NEOFACS and announced as soon as the information becomes available.
