The first official weekend of Operation Red Nose in Hearst has been a success.

That is according to Coordinator Marie-Louise Groleau, who says this past Friday and Saturday were a great start to the 2018 campaign.

Groleau says on Friday they had three separate teams that provided 24 safe rides home.

She then says Saturday saw an extra team added making it four groups that provided 45 rides total.

Groleau says the group is always looking for further volunteers to offer their services.

Anyone interested in joining and helping the Operation Red Nose cause can contact Groleau directly at (705) 372-5136 or can go to the Hearst Public Library to fill out their application.
