The Municipality of Val Rita-Harty has announced that the Val Rita Ice Rink is now officially opened.
CAO Guillaume Richy says the rink was opened as of Friday, thanks to the recent turn in weather that has allowed the ice to settle and outdoor hockey to begin.
Richy says the rink will always be open to the public, regardless of holidays.
However, Richy says the Shack, located at the rink for residents to warm up as well as change, will only be open from 6:00pm to 9:00pm weekdays and 2:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
He also says on Christmas Eve and Day as well as New Year’s Day the Shack will be closed.
If anyone is interested in renting out the ice for a specific time, Richy says you must contact their municipal office to book.
