CRA comes under fire for treating taxpayers differently; Inmate charged with attempted murder in hospital shooting

A federal inmate is facing three charges of attempted murder after a shooting in Kingston.
Police reported the inmate was at Kingston General Hospital when he took a gun from a correctional officer and opened fire. He shot one person in the leg before he was arrested.

Canada Post says it’s committed to getting kid’s letters to Santa.
Amid the ongoing postal strike and a growing backlog in packages, the company says with help from volunteers it has been able to continue collecting Santa letters. A cooling-off period suggested by Canada Post to deal with the holiday rush of packages was rejected by the workers’ union on Monday.
