Hearst Doctor Recognized For Community Work

A Hearst doctor has been recognized for her community work and teachings.

Dr. Lianne Gauvin of Hearst has been honoured with the 2018 Community Teacher of the Year Award during the 2018 Ontario College of Family Physicians Awards.

Gauvin, whose background includes a Master’s in Biochemistry, began her studies at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Since, Gauvin has established her practice within her hometown and is practicing rural family medicine as well as emergency medicine.

Gauvin is also currently the President of Medical Staff at Notre-Dame Hospital and is the Vice-President of the Nord-Aski Family Health team.

Currently, she is also an Associate Professor at NOSM, and she says she is humbled to have even been nominated for the award.

Gauvin is set to receive her award at the CMFO Awards Ceremony in Toronto.
