As winter nears the Porcupine Health Unit is preparing for flu season.

The PHU says anyone is susceptible to getting the flu and passing it on to others, so the health unit began daily flu clinics as of November 1st.

Public Health Nurses say this year’s flu vaccine will cover four strains, two for influenza A and two for influenza B.

It says the vaccine will be available for everyone over 6-months-old.

The health unit says the best way to avoid getting sick is getting the vaccine, washing your hands and living a healthy lifestyle.

The daily flu clinics will run from 1:00pm to 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 10:00am to noon on Saturdays.
