NewsFire Department And KMHA Collect Biggest Donation Total To Date SHARE ON: Nick Birnie, contributor, Tuesday, Oct. 30th, 2018 Photo of 2018 Kapuskasing Fire Department Food Drive Photo by Fire Chief Pat KennedyThe Kapuskasing Fire Department and local hockey players sure did their best to help the hungry this year.According to Fire Chief Pat Kennedy, the local fire department and Kapuskasing Minor Hockey Association players helped to collect 6,500 pounds of food last night while also collecting $1,000 in cash.Kennedy says they would like to congratulate and thank everyone who contributed and participated in the drive.He also says the total of food collected is a full 1,500 pounds more than they have ever raised in one go in the past.Kennedy says a special thanks goes to the hockey players, their parents, coaches and the Rotary Club as well as members of the Fire Department.All the proceeds raised are being donated to the Kapuskasing Food Bank.
