Fall Fashion Show About Providing Support

Local ladies are hitting the runway again for the sake of breast cancer research.

Kapuskasing’s Blooming Bouquet will for a fifth consecutive year be looking to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Society of Canada through their Fall Fashion Show for Dress for the Cause.

Blooming Bouquet Employee and Organizer of the Fashion Show Maureen Loaring-Reed says they have again teamed up with Chez Lizette, and now also Pop Chaussures.

Reed says one of their goals this year is to further involve the community with their fundraiser.

“One of our goals is to involve more of the community in the fashion show. So last year, last April I believe, Chez Lizette came on board with us. This time we have Chantal Dube from Pop Chaussures, and she is providing shoes for the young models.”

She says a recent story of a young woman suffering from Breast Cancer, was one that continues to inspire her efforts to help.

“Recently I heard about a young woman who is only 32 and has suddenly contracted a fast-moving case of Breast Cancer. Thanks to the research that has been done into Breast Cancer she’s having it targeted very specifically to her type of cancer.”

Blooming Bouquet will host their Fashion Show Fundraiser at the store tomorrow beginning with doors opening at 6:30pm, and the event starting at 7:00pm and running for two hours.

To donate to Breast Cancer Research through Dress for the Cause you can do so through monetary or non-perishable donations given to Blooming Bouquet, Chez Lizette or Pop Chaussures.

If you can’t pop by any of the stores, you can go online to the Breast Cancer Research website and can even donate under the Blooming Bouquet team donation.
