OPP are in the midst of an investigation following several schools being put under hold and secure.

All schools within the Kapuskasing community had to assume a hold and secure type situation Tuesday morning.

Provincial Constable Stephanie Belec says the OPP responded to a potential threat in the Kapuskasing area and shortly after they recommended all schools go under a hold and secure procedure, forcing students and staff to remain inside the school.

Belec says the recommendation was made due to an ongoing situation outside of, but not related to the school in any way.

Currently the OPP are still in the midst of an investigation into the matter.
