A fire in Kapuskasing has left no injuries, but done damage to an apartment building.

The Kapuskasing Fire Department was on scene late last night at an apartment located on Riverside Drive putting out flames from a multi-residential structure fire.

Fire Chief Pat Kennedy says they arrived around 11:20pm to heavy smoke.

The department was able to keep the fire contained to mainly one apartment.

Kennedy says flames and smoke damaged the other units within the building, but tenants occupying other apartments were safely brought out of the building and taken care of by Red Cross.

The OPP has now secured the scene and is currently investigating alongside the OPP Crime Unit.
