Food Drive Sees Food Collection Double And An Increase In Cash Donations

The two-day food drive for the Kapuskasing Food Bank saw a big jump in its totals this year.

Kapuskasing Rotary Club President David Millar says in total 3,000 pounds of food and $5,800 was collected from the food drive.

Millar says that doubles the total of food collected and sees a raise in monetary donations from last year to this year, when 1,368 pounds of food and $5,125 was collected over the course of the two-days.

He also says the weather was able to cooperate this year better than they have seen in some of the past years.

Millar says the entire Kapuskasing community deserves a big thank you for their generosity once again.

He also wanted to thank all the volunteers and fellow members of the Rotary Club for once again doing their part in helping make the event a success.
