Once again in remembrance of Terry Fox, Kapuskasing came out running.
Susan Renaud, Organizer of the Kapuskasing Terry Fox Run for 2018 says about $4,300 was raised this year towards cancer research, which was on par with previous years.
Renaud says she would like to thank the 77 participants and volunteers who made the Terry Fox Run another great success with their turnout and attitude.
She says they were extremely happy to see the weather hold off for a great day.
“We were very happy the rain held off, because last year everybody got drenched, as it down poured. So the weather held off, it was a great day, we saw some faces we see every year, people that come back year after year and some new faces, so it was nice to see, lots of families, lots of kids, so a great morning.”
Renaud says without their main fundraiser Stella Arezza, their totals would be nowhere near as wonderful.
We would not have those big totals every year if not for Stella. She goes and takes a few weeks every summer to go to every businesses, most houses, so she collected over $2800 this year herself, once again our superstar.”
She says overall the day has to be ranked another success.
