Local High School Student Completes Musical Journey

A Kapuskasing High School student was one of 24 Canadian teens selected for a musical journey.

Justin Leclair, a 12th Grade student at Ecole Secondaire Catholique Cite des Jeunes was selected to join the Never Too Early Project, a week-long musical training regimen taking place at the Granby International Song Festival in Quebec.

Leclair was chosen after being one of the winners of the Coup de Couer Award for best solo artists at the When We Sing Festival in March.

After performing at the local Lumberjack Heritage Festival the past few years, Leclair took another step in his musical journey by performing in Granby infront of over 700 audience members.

Leclair says despite the jump in size, he went there with an open mind to learn more about music.

As for his future in the industry, Leclair says he is not sure about whether music will play a role, as for now, it remains a hobby.
