Bourgouin Assigned Key Critic Role

Guy Bourgouin has received his assigned role as part of several key critic roles handed to Northern MPP’s.

Official Opposition Leader Andrea Horwath has named Mushkegowuk-James Bay MPP Guy Bourgouin the assigned role of Francophone Affairs/Training, Trades and Apprenticeships.

Horwath says her strong team of Northern New Democrats will hold the government accountable for northern families.

She also says the NDP have a long history of fighting for northern public services and jobs that families depend upon and with their northern team of MPPs she plans to continue to fight for northern health care, education and job creation.

Meanwhile, Guy Bourgouin is part of eight separate MPP’s named to roles, including Temiskaming-Cochrane MPP John Vanthof being named Northern Deputy Leader.

Horwath says together they plan to resolve the challenges that face northern communities.

  • Gilles Bisson (Timmins)  – House Leader

  • Guy Bourgouin (Mushkegowuk-James Bay) –  Francophone Affairs / Training, Trades and Apprenticeships

  • France Gélinas (Nickel Belt) –  Health Care/ Chief Whip

  • Sol Mamakwa (Kiiwetinoong) – Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation

  • Michael Mantha (Algoma-Manitoulin) –  Northern Development and Mines

  • Judith Monteith-Farrell (Thunder Bay – Atikokan) – Natural Resources and Forestry

  • John Vanthof (Timiskaming-Cochrane) – Deputy Leader / Agriculture and Food, Rural Development

  • Jamie West (Sudbury) – Labour
