Talks Are Ongoing Regarding The Future Of The Horse Corral

The town is taking a good, hard look at the future of the Horse Corral.

Council has further discussed the future of the location, as they try to provide a direction on whether to demolish, repair or simply leave the location as is.

CAO Guylain Baril says Manager of Public Works Eric Cote has already gone out and done a full estimate on the repairs coming back at $21,046.

However, Baril says there was no money set aside in the 2018 budget for this type of project.

He  says the idea really began with a simple question as to whether there would be any future use for the corral.

Baril says the estimate is also not cheap, so they do not plan to rush into any decision.

He says the corral over the years has really become an eye sore for the town.

Baril says they plan to put the word out and see what kind of response they get.

He says if chosen, a demolition could be done in-house by Public Works for a low cost.

Council will hold off on a decision until they have looked into possible interested owners, as well as all outcomes.
