KRWT Wraps Up Terrific Weekend

Terrific fishing and fun in the sun.

That’s according to Kap River Walleye Tournament President Gilles Aubertin, who says the competitors saw plenty of terrific weather over the weekend to keep them in good spirits.

Overall, Aubertin says the field was made up of 110 boats this year, a slight come down from last year’s tournament but with a purpose to keep competition tight.

He says this year’s winners were Derick Brooks and Guy Laberge from Moonbeam who together took home an $11,000 cash prize.

Aubertin says a close second place was Dany Vienneau and Roger Vienneau of Hearst and third place was Seb Lizotte and Jeff Vipond of Timmins .

He says a huge thank you goes out to the many different teams who travelled in from near and far to participate in the competition.

Aubertin also says the many volunteers who helped put the event together also deserve a big round of applause as without them, he says the event would not be a success.

There’s also lots to look forward too for the next year’s tourney claims Aubertin, as already 51 teams have come to pre-register for the 2019 event.
