Town In Talks With North Star Air Over New Multi-Use Hangar

There could be a new use coming for the airport in Kapuskasing.

The town has been in talks with North Star Air in regards to a Multi-Hangar Lease.

Council has also been in talks with the Kapuskasing Economic Development Corporation regarding the construction of a multi-use hangar to be used by North Star Air.

The estimated 16,900 square foot hangar could be signed on a 20 year term between the town and tenant, with the option available for North Star Air to purchase the hangar after five years.

The estimated cost of the project stands at just under $3,245,000.

There is no timeline as of now for when or if the project will be breaking ground or for when the construction of the hangar will be completed if it does in fact begin.

The town is expecting to pay just under $1,245,000 with an expected $2,000,000 funding from the NOHFC and FedNor to help with the project if it in fact is agreed upon.
