The final issue is out, and with that the doors have closed on the final chapter of the Northern Times.
With their final copy published and sent out amongst the Kapuskasing community, Former Editor Kevin Anderson says this has been a time of reflection for him, as well as preparing for the future.
Anderson says with the final issue out this week, the Kapuskasing Northern Times has come to an official close after 50 plus years in circulation.
He says he is honestly disappointed that the paper is gone, but more so sad that it’s now all over.
Anderson says there final issue was treated as normal as possible, with a few exceptions to say goodbye properly.
He did mention that he is not giving up hope on the prospect of remaining within the industry and even beginning a small project of his own, though he remained tight-lipped regarding details.
Next week will be the first week without an issue of the Northern Times in circulation within Kapuskasing in over half a century.
