Longtime Hearst Councillor Not Going For Re-Election

There will be at least one new face on council for Hearst beginning this October

Announced yesterday over a press release, Andre Rheaume, a long time councillour for the town has decided not to run in the upcoming elections.

After 30 years spent on council, Rheaume in his statement says he hopes he has made a difference from time to time in the community.

He went on to say that he feels it is time for him to move on and allow others the opportunity to take the reins.

Rheaume though still found time to drop some advice as well on his successors, saying that anyone running for council or to represent the municipality must never forget that they represent everyone in Hearst at the town, not the other way around.

He also thanked the populous and the local residents for putting their trust in him these past three decades.

The current list of councillor candidates stands at 8 with only 6 needed to fill out council.

Here are the details.
