Lumberjack 2018 All About The Party In The Park

This year is all about the party in the park.

That’s according to Town of Kapuskasing Events Coordinator Kelly Kraby, who says the 2018 version of the Lumberjack Heritage Festival will be completely encased in Riverside Park.

Kraby says this year they wanted to keep those in attendance from having to travel place to place and also wanted to put more of a focus on their local talent.

She says families should also feel quite welcome, considering they will have zones for kids that include inflatables and waterslides to name a few.

Kraby says a new unique part of the celebration will be remaining in the park all weekend, which rain or shine will be no problem.

She says the event, which still is about celebrating the forestry industry, will still feature its amateur lumberjack competition as they continue the tradition of the festival.

Kraby also mentions that currently they have three teams for the competition and are looking for a fourth. A team must consist of four people, and one must be a female, for more details you can find the application for the competition here. The final day to register for the competition is Wednesday.

The event begins this Friday and runs all weekend long at Riverside Park, further schedule details and road closures for the event can be found (Schedule) and (Closures).
