Kapuskasing Joins Ontario SPCA’s No Hot Pets Campaign

Kapuskasing is aiming to improve its community awareness when it comes to pet safety during the summer months.

At council the Ontario SPCA’s request for the town to support the ‘No Hot Pets Campaign’ was unanimously agreed upon by councillors.

Kapuskasing Mayor Alan Spacek says pets are a part of our families, and they deserve to be treated as such.

Spacek says council has agreed to help educate the community on the dangers of leaving pets in vehicles during these hot summer months.

He also says at this time Kapuskasing shares one Enforcement Officer with surrounding area municipalities who if working in Kapuskasing can be called to help any animal in distress 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.
