Heat Warning For Local Area

A heat warning has been issued for Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls.

Environment Canada says warm and humid air will continue in Northeastern Ontario today with temperatures expected at 29 or 30 degrees.

The weather agency says they also expect high humidex values in the mid-thirties by later today.

Environment Canada does expect a cold front to pass through the area by later on this evening which should bring an end to the heat warning.

The weather agency suggests everyone drinks plenty of water even before feeling thirsty and says you should try to stay in cool places on days like today.

They also say you should never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle in this type of heat.
