The final Garage Sale for Cancer in Mattice was a terrific success.
That’s according to Organizer Solange Rempel, who says the time has come to bring an end to the garage sale portion of their fundraising, but not before going out with a bang.
Rempel, who began raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society after her father died of cancer, says in total, $2,160 was raised from the event.
She says she would like to thank all of the volunteers, especially her husband Henry, for being there to help over the past 30 years.
Rempel also wanted to thank the Municipality of Mattice-Val Cote for allowing her to put to use tables, clothing racks and much more.
Rempel, who is bringing an end to the garage sale portion of the fundraiser due to losing her location, says after 29 years, it is time for a change.
She says all proceeds from the fundraiser are going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
