How To Keep Cool In The Heat

Try to stay cool and hydrated during this heat wave.
The Porcupine Health Unit is reminding you to drink lots of water and stay out of the sun while this heat warning in affecting the region.
Public Health Inspector Sandra Lapajne says you should be drinking lots of cool water, limiting your physical activities outdoors and wearing light and loose clothing to avoid heat stoke.
Lapajne says there are some signs of heat stoke you can watch out for.
She says if you or anyone around you has some of these symptoms, you should try to cool them off by getting them out of the sun and pouring water on them immediately. Lapajne says you should also call for medical assistance.
