Hearst Municipal Elections Short On Candidates With Month Remaining

With just under a month remaining for applications for municipal elections, Hearst currently has a short list of candidates.

As we are in the midst of the first week of July, Hearst’s Municipal Elections for 2018 have seen very few candidates enter themselves for various roles.

To date, not a single candidate has officially been made as of yet for the role of Mayor.

There has also only been three candidates for a councillor position, that being Joel Lauzon, Daniel Lemaire and Raymond Vermette.

Overall, six councilors and a Mayor must be elected, as well as four school board trustees.

The town’s municipal election application stage will remain open until July 27th at 2:00pm, for more details on eligibility for candidates and the unofficial list, follow the links here and here.
