A heat warning is in effect for the local community.
Environment Canada says Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls will be seeing temperatures near 30 degrees today through Thursday with humidex levels in the mid-thirties.
The weather agency says that even overnight, the low temperatures will be in the high teens to low twenties which will provide little relief from the heat.
Environment Canada says a cool down is expected Friday when a cold front is expected to pass through the area.
